We think it's tops for adaptability to rainy, cool, and otherwise moist settings. And there's no doubt that the fruit is delicious! Ranging in size from 8 to 16 ounces, these bright red fruits are firm, with a good blend of solids and gels. Mountain Fresh is a determinate plant, meaning that it has a bushier form (rather than a continuously-growing vining habit) and sets its crop of fruit within a short several-week period. This is useful for anyone planning to store the tomatoes: if you want to can them, freeze them, sun-dry them, or otherwise turn the crop into delicious eating for later, determinate is ideal for you. Hybrid from Johnny's Select 2017 Catalog 40 seed packet 8-16oz slicers with good flavor. High resistance to fusarium wilt races 1 and 2, nematodes, and vericillium wilt. 100% Germination

The tomato produces heavily during mid-season and then drops off quickly once cool weather sets in. As a cooker it will yield a pumpkin-orange sauce with a floral aroma. This unique cross-bred variety might well be mis-taken for a distinct species of Tomato, owing to its peculiarities of color, form, skin, flesh and quality. Its history in brief, is this: In beginning his experiments, the "Peach" was one kind selected by Mr. Carman as the female parent, while the favorites of the day were chosen as the males. Not one of the plants grown from this seed bore Tomatoes which resembled the "Peach" mother; not one developed its characteristic downy skin. The best of these cross-breds were chosen as the female parents the next year, and were crossed with "Ponderosa," " Ignotum," " Stone," etc., and " Terra-Cotta " is oneof the results. The color is a pure terra-cotta quite unlike anything ever seen in a Tomato before. The skin is lustreless and slightly downy, like that of the "Peach. ' In form it is also unique. It is rarely acutely or deeply lobed or seamed. The surface is slightly wavy and the undulations gradual or obscure. The flesh, too, is peculiarly arranged. Just underneath the flesh of the skin are the pulp cells in which all the seeds are im-bedded. The central portion is solid flesh of a mealy, tender consistency and of a mild flavor, peculiarly agreeable to those who prefer raw Tomatoes. The vines are marvels of productiveness, beginning to bear early, and continuing to ripen fruit until frost.

Appearing in clusters of 8 all over this compact vining plant, these miniatures ripen delectably from green to lavender to richest mahogany. They have a fresh-grown flavor and texture no store-bought variety can equal, from their rich fragrance to that great bite as they are popped whole into your mouth or scattered on salads. Harvest these tomatoes a day or two before they are fully ripe and let them bake in the sunshine of a kitchen window. This prevents cracking and theft from birds, who also find them irresistible, and assures that each Chocolate Cherry reaches its peak of flavor. There's nothing to compare in the cherry tomato family! This plant reaches 5 to 6 feet high and about 3 feet wide, sometimes continuing to grow and set new fruit into autumn. It might just do for a large container, and should certainly be front and center in the vegetable garden. You MUST try this gourmet delight! Pkt is 30 seeds.
