-- I reversed last year's layout to rotate crops. This put veggies that don't mind it into the shadier end of the garden.
-- The winter squash pergola would be a nice backdrop to a few chairs positioned outside of the garden fence and toward the shade of the trees in the very back. Not much grass grows there so I don't think they'd be in the way of the landscapers. I threw in some flowers to make it nearly a tea garden. For consideration.
-- In the back corner I'm proposing using my red A-frame trellises (https://www.gardeners.com/buy/deluxe-cucumber-trellis/8587083.html and/or https://www.gardeners.com/buy/cucumber-trellis-medium/8587081.html) for peas and cucumbers. We could try to underplant them with lettuces, carrots, radish etc.
-- A teepee-type structure might be a good mid-garden element for Corry's hops. (As an example, https://www.gardeners.com/buy/garden-maypole/39-374.html or https://www.pinterest.com/pin/8092474301354541/). An alternate might be to build a long trellis along on side of the garden, under the theory that hops twine up in narrow rows so might not block the sun.
