This garden was planted for Earthplace children's center in Westport. It may not have any plants with poisonous leaves, therefore there are no plants from the nightshade family. We planted soybeans in the place where squash grew the last couple years to renew the soil. The upper right bed is a "3 sisters" bed, containing corn, squash and beans which keeps the soil sustainable. Children at Earthplace grew the starts for the corn, pumpkins, watermelon, and some beans. They also planted beets and radish from seed. The circle in the center of the garden is a compost utilized by the gardeners.
